The U.S.S. LST-451 was a gallant war ship that served during World War II from January 12, 1943 to the end of the war. From their combat debut in the Solomons in June 1943 until the end of hostilities in August 1945, the LST performed a vital service in World War II. Throughout the war, the LST-451 demonstrated a remarkable capacity to absorb punishment and survive. She earned five battle stars and the Navy Unit Commendation.
