Theater Arts

Theater arts, or drama, is a class that has become a tradition at Central High School. School plays have been a part of CHS for over 20 years. Ms. Vicki Pointer is the current director and teacher of the school's theater arts class.

Students in Ms. Pointer's acting class learn how to memorize lines, work in front of crowds, and develop acting skills. The class, which is mainly offered to juniors and seniors, counts as a fine arts credit.

The Drama class regularly travels to area elementary and middle schools to perform for the younger students. The high school students always enjoy interacting with the younger audiences and gain valuable experience on the effort required to "take a show on the road."

Picture slide shows of several of the drama performances are available below. Beginning in 2006, the After-School Video Production class began filming each of the Drama plays. Short videoclips of the most recent plays are also available below.
