CHS Senior Honored by UT

Vade ScruggsCHS Senior Vade Scruggs has been selected for admission to the Chancellor’s Honors Program at the University of Tennessee. The Chancellor’s Honors Program provides its members with numerous academic opportunities, privileges, and benefits, and Chancellor’s Honors students are among the most accomplished and visible student leaders at the University of Tennessee.

The Chancellor’s Honors Program (CHP) is the University of Tennessee’s largest university-wide honors program. Admission to the program is highly selective and usually occurs when students enroll in college. The typical Chancellor’s Honors student has excelled in a rigorous high school curriculum and demonstrated exceptional leadership potential. Standardized test performance is also taken into consideration. The incoming first-year class of 2007 earned an average adjusted composite ACT score above 31, which is within the top 2% of the national distribution of scores.

Vade will graduate from Wartburg Central High School in May 2008. Vade has been a member of Beta Club and FCCLA, played football and served as captain of the football team. His parents are Del and Marte Scruggs of Lancing. Congratulations, Vade, we’re proud of you!
