Central High School has once again received full accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)! In order to maintain SACS accreditation, the CHS faculty compiled and submitted a comprehensive Standards Assessment Report (SAR) online and hosted a two-day Quality Assurance Review Team Visit in March 2008.
During the Review Team visit, the team members conducted interviews with members of the school community that included faculty, staff, students, administrators, parents, and community members. The team visited classrooms, collected and reviewed evidence, and met with the faculty to review their findings.
The accreditation process includes seven broad components that include examining a school's vision and purpose, teaching and learning, school leadership, communication and relationships with stakeholders, and the school's commitment to continuous improvement. In granting full accreditation, the Review Team's report found that Central High met the expectations for all seven components!
Congratulations to teh CHS faculty, staff, and students for a job well done!
