2006 Graduation Ceremonies

Class of 2006The wait is finally over for the seniors! They have officially graduated high school and are now embarking on a new chapter of their lives.

 

Ashley Jones, fluteOn May 23, 2006, baccalaureate services were held at Calvary Baptist Church in Wartburg, TN. Chris Inman, the pastor at Fairview Baptist Church in Deer Lodge, TN, gave the inspirational challenge to the graduating class of 2006. The Central High School wind ensemble played "Holy, Holy, Holy", arranged by senior, Trey Daugherty. Lance Lloyd, valedictorian, led the audience in "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee". Andrew Griffith, also valedictorian, gave the invocation. Many proud family members and friends attended the services Friday night.

ValedictoriansSaturday, May 24, 2006, was the big day. Graduation servicies were held in the Dallas Reed Davis gymnasium at Central High School. Liz Davis, class president, gave the welcome. Salutatorian Erica Hester's speech was centered around the class motto, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”. Valedictorians Megan Crozier, Lance Lloyd, Andrew Griffith, Ray Jenkins, and Tabitha Smith delivered speeches with the common theme inspired by the class song, "This Is Your Life", about the past, present, and future. Megan Lamance, class vice president, gave the farewell.

After much anticipation and excitement, each of the 93 seniors walked across the stage as their name was called to receive their diploma from school principal Dallas Davis. School Board members Randy Harlan and Glen Moore presented each graduate with the class flower, a confetti rose. As the Class of 2006 was presented to the audience, seniors celebrated the end of their high school education as proud family and friends proudly stood by.

We are all proud of the graduating class of 2006, congratulations!
