Basketball Fires Up

Team and School Anticipate Exciting Season

CHS basketball action begins Nov. 22 with a home game against Midway. The team and students are anticipating a winning season once again. Last year's record stands at 22-6 for the boys and 19-8 for the girls.

Both the boys and girls team won the district championships, hosted at CHS. Coach Joe Layne was named the 4A Coach of the year for 2004-2005.

This season promises to be just as exciting with three senior starters. "We've been working hard and expect to perform well and play hard all year" says senior guard Ray Jenkins.

"Expectations are running very high for this team, we look to stay together and achieve to our full potential" says junior guard Aaron Harvey.

Girls coach Dallas Davis had to say about the girls team: "The girls team is working hard to achieve the goals they have set and are recieving great leadership from the three seniors and one junior on the team."

The school is also enhancing the atmosphere at games with a new mixer to play music and the prescence of the CHS Pep Band to involve the crowd. CHS always has an impressive student cheering section full of evident school spirit.

Come out and enjoy the games and cheer on the bulldogs!
