WCHS School Improvement Plan

Each school across Tennessee is required to submit a School Improvement Plan (SIP) to the State Board of Education annually.  Developed by the school’s faculty, with additional input from parents and community members, these plans consist of 6 components that are designed to provide a common guide or blueprint by which the school will operate for the current school year.  Faculty members work throughout the preceding school year to gather information and conduct surveys to prepare the narratives.

The six components of each school’s SIP are:

  1. In the School Profile and Collaborative Process, an accurate profile of the students and community served by the school is developed.
  2. The Beliefs, Mission, and Vision shares the underlying decisions and principles that guide decisions and actions, and collective expectations for the future.
  3. Data is analyzed in the Academic and Non-Academic Data Analysis section to determine and prioritize strengths and needs.
  4. The Curricular, Instructional, Assessment and Organizational Effectiveness component identifies strengths and limitations and then determines how to build on strengths and address limitations in developed of the SIP.
  5. An Action Plan Development component that sets goals, action steps, and an implementation plan.
  6. The School Improvement Plan and Process Evaluation section describes the process for the on-going evaluation of the overall plan.
