The Big Sun Organization is proud to helpyoun ATHLETES succeed in their academic pursuits. They are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student atthletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The amount is $500. Go to http://www.sae.org/students/engschir.htm to apply. Essay Required. This scholarship is from the "Got Milk?" campaign. This award recognizes outstanding cholar athletes in grade 12. There will be 25 winners nationwide who will each reacieve: a $7,500 college scholarship, weekend at Disney world in June, and an opporutnity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in June 2008. The deadline to apply is March 7, 2008.Applications will only be accepted online at bodybymilk.com
For students majoring in Engineering Technology. The scholarship is unique in that the primary criteria for eligibility is not academic acheivement but rather student's desire and motivation for complete personal goals and definite financial need. See Ms. McPeters for details.

Applicant Requirements: Graduating seniors planning a healthcare career, Accepted at an accredited colleg, Provide: Personal letter of Objectives, ACT scores, High School Transcript showing GPA, Two letters of recommendation, College acceptance letter, MMC scholarship application- see Ms. McPeters for forms.
Amount $1000 for a maximum of 2 yrs. Deadline: March 28
Mitsui awards $2500 for globally-minded seniors who plan to enroll in a 4 year public college or university in Tennessee. Go to the website for details: www.jastn.com. Deadline: May 1
2/$1500, 1/$1000, 1/$500. Winners chosen on the basis of a competitive exam given at 1:00 PM oon Thursday, April 3, 2008, Davis Science Bldg. Contestants are requested to register by calling the BioDept at 615-898-2847 between 8AM & 4:30 PM any weekday or by return mail.
The Robert C. Byrd requires a 3.5 GPA or a 3.0GPA & 24 ACT. Deadline: is March 1st. Go to www.collegepaystn.com and the applications are on that website. Ned McWherter must stay in state and the Byrd can be used out of state.

Students are required to have a 3.0 GPA or an ACT score of 21 to qualify. Amounts are now $4,000 for a four year school and 2,000 for a community college. Wilder-Naifeh Skills Grants are $2,000 not to exceed cost of attendance.

Harriman - Director's Scholarship award - a 2.5 GPA is required. Plan to enter as a full-time student for the summer or fall term. Amount: $500. Deadline: April 15
Crossville - A 3.0 GPA is required. Plan to enter by the fall trimester. Fifteen full tuition awards will be made to graduating seniors. Deadline: April 16

The award is $5500 per year for 4 years contingent upon maintenance of required scholarship criteria. This is in addition to any HOPE Lottery scholarship.
