Amount Awarded: $315,085

Teachers and students from three schools in Morgan County make up the Walden's Ridge Cluster, which received this grant. Students, teachers, and community people work on the primary themes which have centered around local historical research/oral history, drama, curriculum study, and community engagement.

2001 Student Extravaganza

Amount Awarded: $5,200

This grant was to help a group of 10 students and teachers attend the 4th annual Nebraska/South Dakota Student Extravaganza in Kearney, Nebraska. Students researched the cost of the trip and wrote a request to the RSCT Stewards who in turn determined the awards. Central High students were instrumental in writing the request for CHS.

Amount Awarded: $5,200

This grant was to help a group of students and teachers attend the 3rd annual Nebraska/South Dakota Student Extravaganza in Kearney, Nebraska. Central High specifically received $1600 of this money with the same amounts given to Coalfield and Sunbright. Oakdale received $400.Students researched the cost of the trip and wrote a request to the RSCT Stewards who in turn determined the awards.

Three Central High students were instrumental in writing the request for CHS: James Griffith, Emily Roettger, and Jonathan Laymance.

CHS has received nearly $1.4 million in grants over the past 13 years.
Teachers from Roane, Morgan, Scott, and Fentress counties attended professional development workshops funded by many of these grants.
