LEGACIES: Leading Edge Gateways and Computer Initiatives for Educating Students

Amount Awarded: $68,860

LEGACIES will build upon the professional development initiatives in place-based education which are already in place at Wartburg Central High School as a result of partnership with the Rural Schools & Community Trust. This program will provide classroom technology to create five additional technology-rich areas within this rural high school in Morgan County.

Leaving Our Community A Legacy (L.O.C.A.L.) Education

Year Awarded: 2001

Amount Awarded: $10,000

L.O.C.A.L. Education will improve student performance on the 11th Grade Writing Assessment and will enable students to explore and discover their local heritage as they apply their language skills to preserve this heritage and provide a legacy for future generations.

CHS has received nearly $1.4 million in grants over the past 13 years.
Teachers from Roane, Morgan, Scott, and Fentress counties attended professional development workshops funded by many of these grants.
CHS recieved more than $300,000 in Goals 2000 grants from 1996 to 2001.
