"Project IT PAYS: Innovative Tutoring Paving Avenues Year-round for Students"

Amount Awarded: $10,000

Project IT PAYS will improve student performances on standardized tests such as the Competency Test, ACT, and state exit exams through creative/hands-on tutoring sessions that will also provide assistance in core curricular areas to help improve classroom grades for all students at Wartburg Central High.

Seven Schools: One Goal - Professionals Helping All Students Excel

Year Awarded: 2000

Amount Awarded: $54,689

This grant proposes to improve standardized test scores in all Morgan County Schools. A team of facilitators from Central High School will work collaboratively to develop and implement an integrated curriculum model during the 2000-2001 school year. The second phase of this process will include two weeks of Teacher Institute Training in interdisciplinary techniques during June 2001 for teams of master teachers recruited from all seven schools in the county.

Teachers from Roane, Morgan, Scott, and Fentress counties attended professional development workshops funded by many of these grants.
CHS recieved more than $300,000 in Goals 2000 grants from 1996 to 2001.
