Courses - Web Site Foundations


Web Site Foundations is one of the most recent addition to the Information Technology Career Cluster of courses offered by the State Department of Education that gives students the opportunity to receive instruction in web design, networking, and web hosting.

Course content for Web Site Foundations includes exposure to basic Web Design and the dynamics of networking/Internetworking, Web hosting, and Web design in e-commerce. The course content provides students the opportunity to acquire fundamental skills in both theory and practical application of Web design and of leadership and interpersonal skill development.

Prerequisites include completion of Computer Applications emphasizing strong keyboarding skills and basic knowledge of the Windows operating system and of a word processor including file management and basic formatting skills.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have completed two of the four courses required in the Web Design Program of Study in the Information Technology Career Cluster. Other courses include Web Design and eCommerce.
