Courses - Computer Applications
Computer Applications is the beginning course for several Information Technology Career Clusters. In this one-credit course, students will properly operate a keyboard and computer and utilize mutiple software packages to produce technology-rich projects. Students will be using computers running Windows XP on a Microsoft computer network using a variety of MS Office 2003/2007 software applications.
This course is designed to develop computer technology skills and serves as a companion course with Advanced English I. Students will explore the social and ethical issues of using computer technology and complete a variety of technology-related projects. Students will develop and demonstrate human relations, self-management, organizational and professional leadership skills.
Upon successful completion of this course, students may pursue additional courses in several Information Technology Career Cluster programs of study. These include the Web Design program of study (Web Foundations, Web Page Design, and eCommerce) or the Accounting program of study (Accounting I, Accounting II, and Business Management).
