Band builds upon developing one's musical talents, talents which set a person apart from the rest of the crowd. In band a person learns to play as a whole, not multiple separate instruments playing their own thing, but a group, a single entity, playing as a whole.

Most of our time is spent in preparations for our winter/summer concerts, held in their respective times. Time not spent doing that is used for pep-band practice, practice for competitions, practice, practice, practice...

Mrs. Sherrill teaches how to read, count, and play music. This music offers a release from daily stress, and a connection with other students. Grades are based on day to day work, with the concert being each semester's final.
