Coalfield

Like many of the towns in Morgan County, Coalfield was settled due to the coal industry. Hence the name, "Coal" field. As mining has diminished in its economic prominence in this area, the town has kept it's sense of community. A public library, volunteer fire department, and senior citezens center make up the townsite today. Coalfield citezens loyally support their community.
