FCCLA

Family Career and Community Leaders of America is a national student organization for young people in family and consumer science classes in public or private school through twelfth grade.

The FCCLA organization has been in effect since 1945. Today there are an estimated 227,000 members in all 50 states as well as the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

  • The purposes of FCCLA:
  • To strengthen the function of the family
  • To provide opportunities for decision making and assuming responsibilities
  • To develop interest in home economics
  • To become aware of the multiple roles of men and women in today's society
  • To encourage democracy

The Central High FCCLA sponsor is Mrs. Tammy Howard. She has been the sponsor for seven years.

To join each year you have to pay a membership fee of $20, which covers state and national dues and a chapter t-shirt.
