Story by Jennifer Bush
Mrs. Jennifer Sexton’s first block Biology class has been learning about DNA structures. To further their knowledge on this subject, they made models of simple DNA molecules.
The students were given the freedom to make the models out of whatever they could find. They were very creative in what they used to make them. Some were made out of candy, some of pipe cleaners and beads, and others of Styrofoam and Popsicle sticks.
The class worked for a week on the projects. Grades were given on creativity, accuracy, and shape. The finished projects were displayed around the classroom for everyone to look at for several days.
