Fields of Faith
On Wednesday, October 14, for the first time ever at our school, FCA is sponsoring Fields of Faith. What is Fields of Faith? Fields of Faith is a peer-to-peer ministry event. Students in our FCA club as well as any other students in our community will meet at our very own John R. Dillion football field to hear fellow students share their testimonies, to be challenged to read the Word of God, and also to be challenged to have faith in Jesus Christ.

Wartburg v.s. Coalfield Food Drive
Central High School participated in a food drive against Coalfield the week of September 28 thru October 2 .Students brought in cans or donated money to purchase canned food during the week. The cans were given to the Store House Food Ministries.

History Made by The Volley Ball Team
Ever heard of the Lady Bulldogs Volleyball Team? If you haven't, you just did. They made history on Tuesday, August 18, 2009,by being the first CHS volleyball team to ever take the court. This inaugural team consists of fourteen players ranging from freshman to seniors. They are coached by CHS faculty members, Ms. Jessica Heidel and Mrs. Samantha Taylor.

Early
Christmas for Computer Lab
On July 31, 2009, Christmas arrived early for the students at CHS when their computer lab was outfitted with 28 brand new Dell computers. The older computers will be recycled and made into a smaller computer lab for teachers to take their students to for class.

New Beginnings in Bulldog Football
The Central High football team has been working hard all summer to get ready for this season. They have lifted weights, practiced hard, and committed their time and efforts into this program. Wartburg football has also welcomed a new assistant coach, Coach Richard Earl. Coach Earl has been helping out this preseason with the defensive ends and tight ends.

Dual Credit Courses at RSCC
Classes at Roane State Community College begin Saturday, August 29th, 2009. Around 45 Juniors and Seniors at CHS are taking dual-credit courses this semester at the Wartburg campus. Taking these courses gives students a chance to receive a credit that counts towards a high school diploma, as well as a college credit at any public Tennessee university.
